OK to sleep in infant seat?

Our baby is 5 weeks old and doesn't sleep much. We bought the Fisher Price My Little Lamb infant seat and he sleeps so well in it. Does anyone know if it's ok for him to sleep in it at night?

When my little guy was 5 weeks we let him sleep in his chair. I say let them sleep where they can so that you can get sleep as well. I wouldn't put them any where unsafe, but as long as you trust the chair/seat i think it is fine. I heard of parents letting their babies sleep in the carseat.

As long as it's a safe sturdy seat, and he's unable to roll out of it, or slide down out of it, it's perfectly safe to sleep him in it! I slept my son n a portable swing a lot in the beginning (not on, just setting him in it), he would never sleep more than an hour or so at a time in the bassinet, so I dragged the swing into the bedroom, and he would sleep 3 or even 4 hours at a tme in it. I think the slightly upright position made it easier to keep food down, and helped a lot with breathng, along with mimicking the position in which he was held by me a lot. He grew out of it without any trouble, and it never became habit. Actually, at around 2 months, I began cosleeping with him, and he slept like a dream, flat on his back! The swing was just a really great alternative for us in our time of desperation and sleeplessness. As a new parent, you'll come to realize that even if something seems strange or unconventional, if it's safe and practical, it can save your sanity! Good luck wth your sleepy lttle man!!

When my son was about that age I let him sleep wherever he felt comfortable. He slept in his swinger alot, but that was the only way I could squeeze in some sleep.

My baby has bad reflux and was scared for him to sleep on his back but then again didnt want him sleeping on his stomach, so we talked to the doctor an he said it is perfectly safe for a baby to sleep in his or hers car seat, just as long as you have atleast the bottum buckeled, so yes it is safe i had to do it for a long time!
