    Flat Head

Hello, My 7 months old daughter has a flat head. I consulted my pediatrician and he says its nomal and the shape might change as she grows. She is doing normal otherwise. However, one of my friends baby has a simliar problem and her doctor has suggested that the baby wears an helmet while she is sleeping to give her head a normal shape. I am confused, has anyone experienced a similar problem? If yes, can you please suggest a solution. Thanks!

    Re: Flat Head

Hi My son is 8 months old now and he too has a flat head. Its called flat head syndrome (it also has a medical name but i cant pronoucne!!). It just means from all the time they spend on their back it has effected the growth of the skull. It all depends on your GP. My son is attending physio and does exercises to try change the shape but other doctors say it has no effect to the child ans will not be noticable as they get older. I dont think it is anything to worry about tho. p.s i have never heard of getting the child to wear a helmet while sleeping :). I hope this helps you a bit!!
