  Update on me :( Reply Contact First of all, thank you all for the support you've given me. I found out this morning that there's been no growth since last week. I will be stopping my progesterone and wait to m/c naturally. I go back in 2 weeks if I don't start bleeding before then. I'm pretty numb right now. I'm sad, hurt, confused, angry, etc. Everything but happy right now. I wish we had an answer why. The did discover that I have MTHFR (which I have renamed "mother fu@#er"). I need to start adding a additional 1mg of folic acid everyday. I really don't know what else to say right now. I just wish DH could be home with me.

Ugh I don't know what else to say, I'm just so mad that this happened!! I wish I could hug you and shake your doctor and say FIX THIS!! I don't want you hurting anymore! I'm sorry I'm not saying sweet sugary pity filled things but I'm just plain mad this time!! They better continue to help figure out what's going wrong and empower you!   Re: Update on me :( Reply Contact Thanks! I was hoping I didn't offend anyone by giving it that name. I'm angry too. My RE is really trying to figure out what's going on. I've had every test done that I can (except for the kareotype because insurance won't cover it and it will run $1500-$1800 per person tested, that's $3000-3600 to test both me and dh, or me and the remains of this one). It's frustrating. Hopefully the extra folic acid and possible heparin (I think that's what they said) will help if we decide to try again. We aren't making that decision right now, there are too many emotions running to make that decision.

  Re: Update on me :( Reply Contact My MIL is such an idiot. I've pretty much made it clear that I really don't want to talk about it right now. I just need to grieve. She called to see how I was. I said "fine." She responded with, "No, you're not." My response was "Well, I'm as good as I can be for losing a baby". Then she proceeded to keep asking questions. Of course, she got me and her daughter (the irresponsible pregnant one, no one take offense, I'm angry) confused. She asked about the heartbeat that we saw last week (we didn't see one). "Oh!" she says. "So what happened?" I explained to her again that last week there was only a gestational sac, and the same this week. Then she says "Maybe this isn't the right thing to say, but at least there wasn't a baby in there." WHAT!!!! I said to her "Well, it was a baby to me. Now we've lost 3." I was pissed!!!!!! Oh, people are stupid.

It's just so sad that there are women like you who want a baby soooo bad and can't get/stay pregnant and then there are these women who hate kids and do awful things to them and can have as many as they want. I really am hurting for you, I'm so so sorry.

I just got a text from one of my students (1 of the 3 who knew). It was so sweet. She wrote in there that she didn't know what to say, but that she was sorry and she loved me. I LOVE my students!!!!

  Re: Update on me :( Reply Contact I hope you don't mind me replying. I'm a June mama, but I've never posted. My husband and I were ttc #3 in '06 and had 3 MC's within 4 months. My midwife discovered I have MTHFR after MC #3. I have since been on an additional 3 mg folic acid daily and have had 2 successful pregnancies since. I just wanted to offer you some hope and let you know I will be praying for you.

  Re: Update on me :( Reply Contact Thanks everyone. MTHFR is a gene mutation. My body isn't absorbing/using folic acid like it's supposed to. There's a lot of controversy whether this is what causes some m/c. I've been reading up on it. I will take extra folic acid (total of 5mg) each day. I will also be taking extra B6 and B12 vitamins. Often with MTHFR, there is a vit B deficiency as well. Some women with MTHFR have to take BA and/or heparin during pregnancy as the mutation can also cause clotting issues. I go back to the dr in a couple weeks to be sure everything is expelled. At that time, I will be asking many more questions and inquire about getting in with a MFM/Perinatologist if/when we get pg again. Again, thanks ladies for all the support. I really feel more at peace this time. I think it's because we have a possible answer. Love you all. Give those babies lots of lovin!

  DScully92 Joined on 02-08-2006 Posts 805	Re: Update on me :( Reply Contact I have a vitamin b-12 deficiency (it's linked to my anemia).  So during my pregnancies i have to take extra iron and I go get b-12 shots once a week.  B-12 shots are covered by most insurances.  Good luck!
