Monday, Tuesday (and today) Addison is not taking her morning nap and then she is crabby at night. I guess she thinks she only needs one nap now but thats not working she still needs two. The sitter let her cry for a little bit thinking she would go to sleep (that works at home she doesnt cry for long at all before she is sleeping We dont let her cry for very long) well it didnt work. Poor baby i know she is sleepy and just wont sleep.
How many naps do your Lo take???
Miles takes 2-3 naps a day. One n the morning and a longer one in the afternoon. Somedays he will even take one right before bed time.
Thats how Addison use to be and now she is not wanting to take the moorning nap. Its stressing me out because I want her to get all the sleep she needs.

That's too bad she won't nap. And it makes it even worse that you aren't with her in the morning to see how she is acting and why she isn't taking one. Miles has really been fighting me lately to take his naps though so maybe it's just something that happens at this age. I hope she starts napping soon so she isn't grumpy at nights for you!

Morning everybody! I am back at work today... BLAH!!!!
Last night was awful! Aidan was up screaming until 2am. All I can think of is the Flu shot? But he had no fever. Did anyone else have a rough time w/ the flu shot? Im exhausted today w/ no sleep.

Miles hasn't gotten a flu shot yet so I can't help you. I hope the work day goes by fast for you though so you can get home and nap with your little buddy.

Anna2619479: JessicaP: Hi Anna! It's good to hear from you! I agree that the lack of teeth isn't something to worry about when giving finger foods. It's the molars that are used for chewing anyway and they don't get those until close to 2 years! I don't think anyone wants to wait that long before giving finger foods...lol. I'm glad that Ian is doing well! What kind of yogurt do you give him? I've just been doing the plain unsweetened yogurt for Morgan (I mix it together with fruit puree and her cereal for breakfast) but I might start giving her regular yogurt for a snack soon. I've been giving her lots of yogurt b/c she's been on antibiotics for an ear infection. Anyway, thanks for posting!
Hi Jessica! It's nice to be back, even if it's temporary! I give Ian regular yogurt with the fruit mixed in, though I make sure that it's not low-fat or non-fat yogurt...they need the real deal at this point. I tried plain unsweetened yogurt, and he wasn't too crazy about it. I also started him on yogurt, because he was on antibiotics for an ear infection followed by a stomach virus back in July. Early for dairy, I know, but desperate times call for desperate measures! Was the only thing that helped...
I hear ya! I've been told 7 months for yogurt though, so you weren't too early. Isn't annoying how hard it is to find the regular fat yogurt? I eat that kind too b/c I hate the taste of artificial sweeteners. And it's always the low fat stuff that's on sale too.

Victor had a flu shot and it did not bother him, but that's not to say that Aidan wouldn't be irritable from it. Poor little fella! I'm sure he's feeling a bit better after a nice sleep (hopefully) is he with Adrian while you're at work?

Dave's Buttercup: JessicaP: Dave's Buttercup: MelanieT88: Dave's Buttercup:Victor is mahvelous! His 9.5 month stats are 22 lbs 11 ounces, 30.5 inches! Not much change in height just a quarter of an inch but an 11 ounce gain in one month! They were also out of flu shots so I have to go back when they get more in for his second dose. She said if he didn't get his second dose of it he'd probably be ok, but try to get him in for it. She said that its still beneficial to him to have just the half dose still. She also told me to make sure I get my swine flu shot as well as dave, and if I can also for V. They're in such high demand though it'll be hard to find them! she highly recommends it for babies but for me is a must since the higher incidence of it attacking healthy individuals, also so I can care for the baby. His hemeglobin came back super, and that patch of icky next to his mouth is the nummular eczema and its a difficult spot ti keep dry but she said it will go away with some 1% hydrocortizone cream. It was a great appointment, she just loved him, he gave her a slimy kiss!!! he was walking for her and trashing her paper sheet LOLhe was climbing the walls laying on the cheese for her. What a ham I have! Fantastic appointment!!! Doesn't it make you so proud to know that your care for your child is allowing them to flourish so well?!
It really does. It's such an amazing feeling, especially with bfing. It makes me feel really good about my decision. I'm so glad my np is all in agreement with what I do as well.... sidenote: She told me aside from chicken/turkey there isn't much else she'd suggest in terms of meat with protein. Like she didn't suggest beef/veal babyfoods for babies. I just thought that was interesting... I like peanut butter for protein.
are you giving Morgan pb already? What's the deal with it? I keep reading mixed opinionss, not sure if I should or shouldn't... No one in my family has a nut allergy, no one in dave's line, but his half brother's one son has a peanut allergy. (Knowing this my mil STILL has peanut candy out in her candy dish, what a lady, huh! He put some in his mouth and spit it out and yelled to his mom for help) Okay, first of all, that woman is crazy! I am SO sorry that you have to have her for a mil....good thing her son is such a great guy to make up for it, eh? So, with the pb, yeah I just started Morgan with it. I've heard a lot of different things too. The general guideline right now (I think it's still the same) is to wait until 2 years. But then I was hearing other research coming out that it's better to start it a lot earlier (like before the 1st birthday) as long as there is no family history of nut allergies. The thought is that waiting a long time might actually be contributing to allergies developing. Whether that's true or not, I decided to go with the earlier introduction for my girls. We have absolutely zero food allergies in both our families, so allergies don't concern me a lot. That being said, I'm careful about the introduction of pb. I started by just taking the tiniest little dab on my finger and touching it to her tongue. I do that for a couple days watching her really carefully to make sure there's no reaction at all and then I gave her a piece of toast spread with a really thin layer of it (cut into pieces of course). She's done fine with it. The other reason I wasn't too concerned is that we're a big peanut butter family so I know she's been exposed to it many times, just not in her mouth, ya know?

How many naps do your Lo take??? Morgan has a morning and afternoon nap still. I would say stick with it, it could just be a phase. I wish that I had stuck with Mackenzie's morning naps when she started fighting them because I really believe that she would have started taking them again. But because I gave up, there's no way I could have re-introduced them. She was 14 months when she dropped it though. What I've read is that the "average" child gives up the morning nap at 18 months. I think that's one guideline that every mother wishes her child was behind on! lol

our babysitter said she wanted to wait with her little girl till after 1 year to give peanut butter, but her family gave her daughter peanut butter and she loved it. So i just recently gave kody a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and he absolutely LOVED IT! we don't have any food allergies in our family... although my mom is allergic to pumpkin she wasn't until she was about 36 or so. But nothing happened to kody. Kody hates to eat chicken. HE loves turkey. We have to watch what is in the jarred food because his skin and nose are turning orange. HE absolutely loves squash and sweet potatoes. He doesn't enjoy peas and green beans which dale and i love.
