Making Baby Food

Homemade baby food undergoes less processing and is therefore more nutritious, better-tasting, and less expensive than store-bought, jarred foods. Share information, recipes, and tips with other parents on this board who are committed to or interested in making their baby’s food.

    Making food ??

What is the best way to make the baby food? Do you just put a banana in the blender until its all mushed? Do you add water? Never done it before and Im needing to know how some of you make the food.

Lol. I'm glad you were able to answer yourself.

What I usually do is just mash it up, but my DH likes to put it in the blender. When I give DS banana I mix it with avocado because avocado increases the bioavailability of nutrients found in fruits and veggies. Since slightly green banana has a high iron content, I want to maximize what DS can absorb from it. I add some pumped breastmilk if it ends up a little thick.

This website explains a lot about it if you search for avocado. It's also a great source of information about other fruits and veggies!
