For the first birthday i would keep it simple but very memorible, Suggestions: Go through your photobook and get one picture per month ie, 1 month 2 month 3 month.. then go to your dollar store and get a poster board make little Frames for them and post them in your place in one special spot then in the middle or on the side have a huge paper with his drawing/coloring on it to have all the "guest" sign this way you can keep it for when he turns a certain age you just never know he might grow up to be a artist............... For the guest part if you have another friend with a baby invite her over for a play date, have pictures taken of the children playing but try to remember it is about his first birthday party..... For a cake why not try a cupcake cake this way there is no mess on cutting it up and your little one has his own personalized mini cake.... For a run down on this type of party is poster board-$1 disposible camera -$5 one awesome birthday party-$0 Pricless... hehe sorry had to do it.... WOW october is his bday you are getting well in the game, good job!!! If you want to give a little "special" activity have the little ones all trace their hand on a cardstock paper and have the little handprints poem on the bottom this way they get a keepsake to bring mom...... Do you have a theme??? My dd first bday was a jammie party, everyone came in jammies we made our own personal pizza and all "camped" out on the floor for a hour and watch a movie... If you need any other help you can PM me i will answer faster, sorry about the wait..... ~MEL
