My son was just diagnosed as type 1 on Thursday, after a horribly scary trip to the ER for what we thought was a bad stomach virus, only to find out his blood sugar was 1250. We were taken to childrens hospital, and told he may not make it through the night. He did make it, and we came home a few days later, full of information, and stocked with 2 kinds of insulin, meters, etc.
It's an odd situation when you believe you have a completely healthy 2 year old, only to find out they have a life long disease. I hope to find other mothers here who have info, as I am new to all of this, and can use any advice and support I can get.
TYIA.
