    Your Workout

What do you do when it comes to workouts? I prefer to workout at home because I hate going to the gyms. I need to do something very active so I prefer kickboxing or regular boxing. Helps relieve my stress for the day :)

I own my own Johnny G. Spinner so I spin at home like 4 x weekly. I love it so much. The bike came with four dvds.

    Re: Your Workout

I do all kinds of workouts... but mostly the including some sort of running.  I've been competing in triathlons for a few years and that's how I've gotten back into shape after both of my pregnancies!!!  Right now I log between 20 and 25 miles a week running with my two girls in their running stroller, then do some ab work, and lift weights at the gym.  But I've found that you can find some REALLY great videos at the library and then switch them up every week or so and then you won't get bored!!!  The biggest thing about exercising is to "keep it fresh".  Beucase if you aren't having fun it's hard to stick with a routine!!!  Hope that helps!!!!

    Re: Your Workout

I don't know if this is necessarily the right place to ask, but I'll give it a shot anyway. I know that lower back pain is just one of the cons of pregnancy, but mine is getting down right unbearable. Are there any exercises that would possibly help strengthen my back so that simple things like housework and cooking dinner aren't such a strain?

Have you tried yoga or pilates. There are classes for pregnant moms and the moves aren't too difficult or uncomfortable to do.

Hi yoga tai chi and pilates would be great for you, there is a class called Body Balanace which is a Les Mills program they have all over the world. I instruct it and think that you would find it helps a lot, I have had pregnant women come to my class and find it really helps :) Also getting into the pool will help loads, not an active aqua class but perhaps a rehab class or pregnancy class, just make sure the pool temp is no hotter than 32 degress as this can be really harmful to mum and bub :)

Kickboxing is GREAT for working out! Burns tons of calories! I miss my class! :(

As for my workouts...it varies daily....We have a personal trainer @ our USCG base now. She's been instructing classes since Feb.  We do EVERYTHING. Mostly body weight excerises...and weight lifting. Not so much cardio....but some. Here are a few examples of what we do daily:
chest press, dead lift, chest flies, pushups, sit ups, crunches, and we use sooo much equipment......bosu, weights, med balls, stability balls, etc.!

    I can't live w/out my workouts now. :)

I work outside my home and I workout on my lunchbreak Mon-Fri. It also helps me focus better at work and get more stuff done.

It's not easy at first, but so worth it. I work 40 hours a week, and don't want to miss a moment of my time off with my 7 month old. I've come up with some creative ways to work out with baby - check out www.bananasbaby.blogspot.com. Pics too! Good luck.
