Where are all the natural mommas?!

I was excited to see this as a new board, but so dissapointed to see no one frequenting it! I am by no means "crunchy" but I only use natural cleaning products, bath soaps/shampoos,, lotions etc. I buy as many organic veggies as I can afford and meat and milk, too. I never store food in plastic anymore...just glass containers, and I don't run anything plastic through the dishwasher. My mom had her second go round with vaginal cancer this past summer, and this time she beat it, and beat it BAD by changing her entire life! She's a vegetarian, juicing queen! She has lost all of her extra weight and looks wonderful, feels wonderful etc. I wish I had her devotion! What do the rest of you do to live naturally?

I'm not as crunchy as some, either, but there are a few things I've been doing.  We've taken up recycling-- we use a lot of bottled water.  I try to make as much of our food from scratch.  I think it tastes better and I know it's healthier!  We try to use natural remedies over pharmaceuticals whenever possible.  We haven't resolved to the natural cleaners yet, but we're taking baby steps.  This year I hope to start a compost and grow some of our own food.

We garden, compost, recycle/repurpose, we're adding chickens this spring, clean w/vinegar and baking soda and essential oils, rarely purchase packages foods, cook with whole grains, eat meat sparingly (homemade refrito enchildas in the oven right now...yum!), cloth diaper, breastfeed, all that. We built our home with sustainable and recycled materials and made much of the "icing" on our house ourselves from reclaimed and recycled materials (I'm a glass artist, DH's a finish carpenter/door guy). I learn more and more all the time and am constantly changing our lifestyle to teach myself and my family different ways. Like Chamelyan said, baby steps. :)
