    Question

Does anyone know the cost of a head stone? We still don't have one for my mom yet. I want to make sure I get her a nice one.

    Re: Question

Jen, I think it all just depends on your area and the company making/setting it.

Reagan and Abbey's were just $500 a piece, but they were the low ones, and I think we got a deal on them because we were small town and small community.

I would just go in and explain what you want and have them give you a quote.  I know it's not an easy thing.  It seems so final.  ((HUGS))

    Re: Question

Hey Jen.  This is such a tough subject.  My mom just purchased a stone for my daddy.  She is not one to go to graves to mourn or buy large stones, she remembers with memories, so she just bought a "pillow stone".  It cost her $2,800.00, but she had a lot of printing on it.  I think if it were me doing the purchasing I would have bought something bigger, but it wasn't up to me, and she just isn't a cemetery visitor.  She prefers to remember with memories.

    Re: Question

We went to a small town nearby because they were cheaper and told them what we wanted.  I think it's nice and was about $800.  They can be extremely pricey, that's for sure!  My dad's is an upright stone, so I think we got a pretty good deal on it.  It's something I would really shop around for because like anything I think that they can really vary.  Look around and get an idea of what you want in your head and then just go in and talk to them about it.

    Re: Question

It depends on what your cemetery requires (or if they require anything specific).  The place my mom is buried would only allow markers and they had to be marble slab with a bronze overlay.  Those are the most expensive ones to get (as far as just markers go).  We spent about 1,200 on it.  Then we purchased solar lights to put in the vase.

I know this is a tough thing to look into. Just ask your cemetery and then call around for prices.
