    Christmas gifts

Have you thought about what you're getting your little ones for Christmas yet?

Since we're going to be moving in June, we don't need to get a whole lot for the kids because we'll be getting rid of a lot.  I think we might get Kirsi a Barbie because a lot of her friends are into Barbies and she seems to enjoy them.  She is also into kiddie jewellery so I'll see if I can find that.  I also picked up a Playmobile safari set when we were at home in the summer and I think that will be a gift to both kids from Santa.  I've noticed lately that Kirsi has been rather possessive about some of "her" toys so I'd like to make it a gift to both of them.  I also found a set of floor hockey sticks on sale when I was home so that'll be something for both of them.

For Aidan, I found a bat and ball that I know he'll love.  I also got him an umbrella because he's obsessed with Kirsi's right now.

    Re: Christmas gifts

I think it's a great idea to put both their names on gifts if Kirsi is getting possessive.  Last Christmas I did that with a lot of Gracie's presents even though Raven wasn't big enough to use them yet, because I wanted Gracie to know that when Raven was interested she could play too.  We haven't had any problems with sharing anything either.

Gracie is really into her baby dolls so I got a baby cradle for her already, and now Raven is into them too, so I might pick up a 2nd cradle for Raven so they can play together.  I bought some play kitchen food when it went on sale at the end of the summer for the girls also.  I'm also doing a magazine subscription for both of them.  For Raven I'm getting the 0-3yro Zoobooks but I don't know which one for Gracie yet.  We always do Christmas Eve Jammies too.  I'll probably get them some new bath toys to share.  I haven't really decided what special gift I'll get either of them yet.  Gracie wants everything she see's and she always tells me, "Maybe I can ask Santa for that?" or "Maybe I can have that for Christmas?"  But nothing she wants sticks out in my mind as anything great I think she'll use once more than the first day she gets it.

Great post, I love to hear other's idea's, especially since we are broke this year and I've been trying to buy a little here and there so that I'm not buying it all in December.

    Re: Christmas gifts

Ugh!  Every weekend in November is already booked, the boys have way too much, and the relatives will give them more!  We hopefully won't buy a lot, either.

I love the idea of umbrellas.  Ander will think that is a toy, but it's useful.

I would like to get each boy a little desk, but I think Alan thinks they don't have space.  I think Ander really needs a place for his computer and drawing, though.  And if Ander has one, Loki will want one!

Or "If You Give a Pig a Pancake"...

And Aidan is like Loki that way.

LOL and JJ is just like Loki and Aidan.. So thanks for pointing that out to me LOL I'm thinking of getting them both new bed sheets. Ryan is likely going to have his bed converted soon, so he will need new sheets. JJ's room has NO theme at this point cause I sold his baby stuff. So likely that's going to be one gift. Otherwise I'm kind of clueless. I don't know really what's out there. And they have so much! They get 3 gifts from us 1 biggie from Santa and a stocking. So I have that to plan for them. Bed sheets and any decorations would be in one box.

    Re: Christmas gifts

We do Christmas Eve at Toby's mom's, Christmas morning at our own house, and Christmas day at my mom's house, so the girls end up getting LOTS of stuff. We decided last year that we're only going to give 2 presents each. We already have that rule for everyone else (mostly because we have to buy gifts for so many people. At Toby's mom's alone we have to get things for at least 10 people, not including ourselves.) I would like to have everyone else implement the same rule because they just got way too much stuff last year, but I doubt anyone would actually listen, lol. As for what we are actually going to get them, we don't have any solid ideas yet. I'm thinking a board game for Eliana, like Boggle Jr. that someone else mentioned earlier this week, and the Doctor Play Set at Target. I still don't have any good ideas for Josie though. What we might get as a gift for both of them is a play car that they can both ride in comfortably instead of trying to squeeze into the single Dora car....

I'm actually thinking Santa might bring something big, like a car they can both ride in LOL

I have no idea this year!!  This year has gone by so quickly - I don't even believe it's almost November geez....

Like Gracie - Liam also says he wants to ask Santa or the grandparents for everything he sees lol  I'm thinking of getting him some big boy leggo sets and maybe a car he can drive outside.  He loved the small 4 wheeler that Paula had for the boys when we were camping so maybe something like that.  Who knows....

    Doctor Play Set at Target

Thank you for reminding me, I have always wanted to get Dante a doctor's kit. (do you think he'll check out baby? uh oh!)  I also want to get him games like Candy land  I thnk he finally understands the concept of a game rather than dump all pieces out and stomp on them!

Must be the age because Claire has to have everything sister gets. If Azure gets a sticker, Claire's hand goes up for one too. It bugs sometimes.

i want to get the girls backyard toys and a sandbox since we have a yard now, but Azure's been asking for a bike. We don't have a sidewalk and the driveway needs to be paved so I'm not sure if I want to get her that yet.
