    Thanksgiving Menu?

For thanksgiving the past few years we've just gotten Boson Market because it's easier.  I decided I didn't want it anymore and am doing it on my own this year.  I've done it before, so it's not like I don't know what to make.....but am looking for different ideas.

Instead of a regular Turkey (I don't do ham) I just got a turkey breast....there are only 6 adults and I can't stand the turkey cavity and such.  I've decided to do a cornbread stuffing this year instead of the regular one.  Then baked mashed potatoes and some asparagus.

What are you making....I need some other ideas!

Besides the usual Turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, etc., my family also makes homemade rolls, cornbread casserole, green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole (that's to DIE for...mashed up sweet potatoes with pecans/brown sugar mixture on top....SO yummy), relish plate, etc.  Then for dessert we have pumpkin pie and pecan pie.  If we do it with Dh's family, they always make a pineapple pie too for DH's dad due to his birthday being right around Thanksgiving.  Thanksgiving is my FAVORITE holiday because of all of the yummy food! :)

We are having the basics I guess you could call it:

Turkey and Ham, mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, dinner rolls, apple and pumpkin pies, and possibly upsidedown pineapple cake.

I feel like we're missing something though.

We always have perogies for Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter to go along with all the other food.  One of my friends never has turkey for Thanksgiving because his mom didn't like it; she always made cornish game hens.  Definitely different.  If you don't want to do pumpkin pie, I have a good recipe for pumpkin squares or a pumpkin cheesecake.

    This is what I make

Whole roasted turkey with rosemary and citrus salt, two kinds of stuffing. I always make my mom's stuffing and then try a new one as well. THis year it's Paula Deens cranberry apple dressing made with hawaiian bread...sounds interesting. Mashed potatoes and gravy (ick!). Green bean casserole. Sweet potatoes (my recipe is loaded with butter and sugar and has a pecan and brown sugar crust, YUM!), rolls, cranberries (from a can, nobody ever seems to eat them no matter how they are made), and that's about it. Sometimes I add deviled eggs to the mix. My friend is bringing all the hors d oveurs and dessert (I convinced her to try making Paual Deens Pumpkin Butter cake). It's just our family and another family but we're all about cooking mass quantities and living on left-overs.

    Re: Thanksgiving Menu?

I'm bringing a baked ham, canned cranberry sauce ;), and mashed potatoes.  My sister is making a turkey and lemon meringue pie.  My other sister makes baked spaghetti (spaghetti noodles in a creamy cheesy sauce).  My other sister (there are three) brings crescent rolls.  MIL is doing cornbread dressing.  Mom and dad are doing a brisquit (sp?) with brown gravy and bar-be-que brisquit, snap beans (green beans with a roux and fried potatoes and onions in them), the above-mentioned sweet potato casserole with pecans/brown sugar toppings, peas, dirty rice (rice with onions and ground beef), cookies, banana and pineapple cream pie, etc.

    Darn it, now I'm starving!

I am bringing the cheesecakes and visiting both families.  I heard there will be both turkey and ham, probably lasagna at my inlaws.
