yes i actually have lost alot of muscle in my body. especially after my hospital stay for the cerclage being that they wouldn't let me out the bed to even use the bathroom. it was pretty scary when i first got home i didnt believe i would b so weak so i tryed to sneak and shower while my bf went to buy food and ended up layin on the bathroom floor until he came back because my legs grew weak after only standin for maybe 5 mins. at the begininng of my pregnancy i gained 10lbs lost 6 of that the first week of bedrest and now jus got back up to 10lbs. my doctor yells at me all the time that i need to eat more and fatten up my baby im just not hungry. i feel terrible i wish i had the cravings like other normal preg women but i dont want anything. My boyfriend makes me lots of protein meals to help with the gain. Do you get heartburn from the procardia? I wanna cry sometimes its so bad i just down at least 6 glasses of milk a day just to deal.

Hi Lisa!  I have no right in messaging here either, because I'm not even pregnant, lol!  But your post was on the homepage of pw and it caught my eye.

First of all, congratulations!!!  After 5 1/2 years of trying, you've got to be over the moon to finally be pregnant!  And to have it happen all on your own, after fertility treatments is incredible!!  Dh and I tried for 3.5 years for our first, so I know how amazing and overwhelming it all is to finally see a positive on a pregnancy test!  Almost surreal.

Anyway ~~ just wanted you to know that I have a bicornuate uterus, too.  And I gave birth to two 9 lb. babies and an almost 8 pounder. :) You can do it!  Just take one day at a time.  If you're like me, you'll start to feel Braxton Hicks contractions very early.  Drink lots of water, put your feet up as much as you possibly can, and rest. Because of the bicornuate uterus, all three boys were born by C-section.  My first got to a certain point and ran out of room to turn, so he was breech.  My second was head down and we were hoping for a vbac, but he also ran out of room and turned sideways at 39 wks., so we scheduled the section.  With my third, I had placenta previa, so he was an automatic section no matter what position he was in.  :)

I'm so glad that your drs. are keeping such a close eye on you!  Feel free to pm me if you ever need.  I am so happy for you.  I'll keep you and this little one in my prayers.

A very happy Thanksgiving to you, Lisa.

Maybe you can try to incline your upper body slightly - just enough so that when you eat, the food doesn't back out?  As the baby grows, he'll start pushing up your stomach so a lot of people get heartburn.  It's probably worse if you're always horizontal and gravity is not your friend anymore.  If you're ok'd to sit up for meals, maybe you can recline for a while (just an hour?) to try to help things stay down.  I'm usually on the flattest setting on a recliner or i'm in bed propped up on a bunch of pillows, so I'm hardly ever completely flat.  Are you always laying on your left?  That probably doesn't help either.

I know you're taking bed rest really seriously and don't want to take any chances, but it's hard enough to be on bed rest and your doc may recommend a more comfortable way to lay  - don't be uncomfortable more than you need to be!  You did mention that baby was at the right weight, so that's a really good sign.  I eat 3 bites and i feel completely full - i eat the rest only b/c baby needs it.  If it wasn't for my giant belly, the rest of me is the thinnest i've been in 10 yrs.  I will ask my doc about this when i see her a week from Monday.  Please ask your doc - can you call between appts?

Hey ladies sorry I have not been on. Its been crazy since my hubby headed back to kuwait. My toddler has not been behaving in the most favorable mannor. It was super hard sending him again.

Anyways, I had my 34w appt on Wed. I am OFF bed rest. I get to be treated like a 'normal' pregnacy now!! And if I go into labor they are not going to stop me. I am hoping not before Dec 17, I will be 37w then. With my luck I will go past my EDD! lol

I didnt read all the posts I am so sleepy from thanksgiving. So Hey Gabi! I hope you can hold on to your lil boy. Melissa, she is on the same board as me is still holding on to her lil girl and she is due in 10 days!!!! So there is hope. I will add you to my prayer list. Sorry you had to come join us.

Sassett (I hope that is right!) How are ya doing chick??

I'm really hoping i make it to 32w...i kno wut u mean about being outta shape i should like a thousand pound person by the time i walk from the car to my doctors office...i can't wait to be a normal pergnancy. I'm tryin to find an outfit on the internet to wear for my baby shower. Maternity clothes are soo boring i refuse to wear it. i still wear my jeans and shirts or i jus buy reg shirts in a larger size. im so confused tho when it comes to my baby shower. not sure what to wear and i also want to be comfortable.

Re: Put on bed rest at 23w......

I say a cute jogging suit! :) VS is having a huge sale and I LOVE thier pink line. I am a fatty and have no choice but to do maternity clothing. I cant go up any more with out going to plus size wich if I was truly a plus size would be ok but since I am not I just need to loose weight they dont fit right. I know mother hood has a cute shirt that says baby makes the belly go round! lol Its a cute maternity shirt too. Fits you nice and snug. I can still fit into my regular jeans and button them I just cant sit down in them! lol Well that was about 3w ago. I dunno now he has dropped a lil bit. I have done really well so far. I was at 236lbs then lost to 228lbs and last week weighed 238lbs at 34w! I am so happy. (In HS the smallest I ever weighted was bout 160lbs, I am 5'9" and have a large bone structure so I was a size 9 at that weight)

Re: Put on bed rest at 23w......

Well he kinda floats. He has been down low since yesterday after all of my shopping. He still can go lower, so we will see. I still think I am gonna go really close to my EDD.  lol I am going to breast feed. I did with Ava and I LOVED it. I lost weight quickly. I am really hoping not to gain more than 5lbs too. But if I do then its ok. Your body is gonna gain what it needs to. Try not to stress over it. Your first prioirity is a healthy babe. :)

the reason i asked u that is because my baby has been breech for the past month and im beginning to get worried because i dont want a c section. I am really lookin forward to a all natural vaginal birth. and i am tired of him kicking me in my cervix.

Isaac was breach till I hit about 28-29w. They just have so much room in there right now. It might not seem like it but they do. lol I wouldnt worry about it.

Re: Put on bed rest at 23w......

I have been a Doula for many years and I know exactly what you are talking about. It is nice to be able to have a vaginal delivery if you can, but the health of yourself and baby are top priority. When you are on bedrest and laying on your back and side all the time it can put baby in a bad position for delivery. A couple of things that I suggest to my moms is to drink lots of water and to get on your knees and chest a couple of times per day for atleast 30 minutes each time. To do this you get on your knees, put your chest down on the bed and your rump in the air, this position often times will make the baby change his position. At this point in your pregnancy there should be plenty of room for baby to turn yet, so I wouldn't worry too much at this point. I wish you all the best.

Re: Put on bed rest at 23w......

Hey all! This is my second pregnancy and I have been on bedrest for both. Last pregnancy I was on bedrest for the last month or so for premature labor and this one I have been on bedrest since 25 weeks. I'm 28 weeks now and just can't wait until I hit that 34 week period. Luckily I am not on strict bedrest I can go from bed to chair, bed to couch and bathroom. Like most of you guys I have a young baby at home, he is 10 months and it gets hard when my husband has to go to work and I have to care for him. It's crazy how quick you get out of shape when you go on bedrest. I feel like I'm out of breath and tired 80% of the day. I try to do little things around the house and they wear me out..much less trying to keep up with my son. What sucks is I am not a lay about person. Before my first pregnancy I worked full time and was at the gym daily for at least 2 hours..now I feel like I am so out of shape..I'm 35 and this is the last baby for me..don't think I could carry another one..too many problems with the two I have. Luckily I have a partner who is very understanding and helps me get through the day!!

I was gonna say glad to have you but thats kinda morbid! lol Nice to meet you wish it was under different terms. I am glad to hear you are doing well and have made it to 28w. Wow a ten month old! You sure do have your hands full. I love that age! My lil girl is killing me lately. I feel all I do is punish her and scold her. My mom just tells me thats why its the terrible twos!! Dang do I hate it. lol Well I hope you make it to 34w. It is such a great feeling. You only have 6 more to go! Well take care and I will chat with you later!
