    Subchorionic bleed?

has anyone experienced this before? how long did it last? i am apparently 10 weeks now and i went to the ER 2 weeks ago and was told that was what i had because i had been bleeding brown for 11 days. i havent returned or had an ob appointment because we unfortunately do not have insurance. the hospital was so nasty to me when i went because they told me i didnt have any emergency and shouldnt be there. so im pretty hesitant to go back there :( im just really worried i guess. i know ive read that most pregnancies are normal after the bleed fixes itself but i am still bleeding. its been a month! now i do have to say it has turned light brown in the last week or so. but im still worried that its still there.

I experienced spotting brown for two weeks from 8 to 10 weeks pregnant. But everything was fine. I am now 21wks. What worries me is that you dont have any insurance. its very important to go to the ob at least once a month and be sure to take prenatals with folic acid. There are plenty of programs that get pregnant women insurance. Have u tried medicaid? Well i wish you the best and hope you make things work out.

i did apply for medicaid about 2 and a half weeks ago but i havent gotten a response yet. although i really dont think i would be approved since my dh makes just over the limit allowed. i am waiting though for their response. i am taking some prenatal i bought at target. they are natures made brand. i figured i could at least take those until we can figure out what we can do about the whole doctors situation

    Re: Subchorionic bleed?

I am also from Fl. and they will give you pregnancy medicaid, its different than regular medicaid they give it to any pregnant woman without insurance. I had sch 2 of my pregnancies this being my 4th pregnancy the 2nd sch. My first hemmorage or hematoma was very large, I bled bright red and for a while too, it all turned out ok. with this pregnancy I have a sch since early on, I bled red again then turning to brown in the first trimester and so far all is ok...My doctor said that most women have hematomas and everyhing turns out ok, that has been my experience as well...why dont you try another hospital? medicaid will be back dated 3 months from when you apply and unfortunately it takes about a month to get approved...I wish u the best...try other hospitals til someone does an ultraound and sees all is ok with baby...remember your medicaid will be back dated.

    Hello there ....

I had a large (9cm diameter) SCH during my pregnancy, and my little babygirl arrived safe and sound about 4 weeks ago. The SCH rollercoaster all depends on size and location.

You are more than welcome to e-mail me if you need to talk advice etc.

Also there is an AWSOME and very active support group on yahoo groups.,  just surch under sub chorionic....

    Re: Subchorionic bleed?

i also had a sch with this pg... around 6 weeks i had some light brown spotting... they did an ultrasound and found an SCH behind the placenta.... aroung 10 weeks i started bleeding bright red w small dark clots... i went to er and they found cervix to be closed tight and heartrate strong... so apparently i passed the SCH... i'm now 34 weeks and almost there =) from what i read most sch's do not pose a risk and resolve themselves throughout the course of the pregnancy (many just reabsorb).... also the level of threat to the fetus will depend on the size of the SCH as well as it's placement within the gestational sac... as it can be behind the placenta or on the edge of it as well... the biggest concern would be placental abruption caused by sch.... please go to the health dept or clinic or back to the hospital to see if you can get a follow up u/s... be sure to ask how big the sch is as well as the placement.. i am also a FL resident and know plenty of ladies whom the state has funded their maternity care... good l uck.... it's a good sign that you are just having light spotting and it is starting to wane!

    Re: Subchorionic bleed?

I also had a subchorionic hematoma this pregnancy. I hemmorhaged 4 times with bright red blood before I was put on bed rest. I never had another hemmorhage, but I did have brown bleeding for several weeks that ended right before I started my second trimester. The clot was at the edge of my placenta, and it eventually moved out from under the placenta and started to shrink. By 18 weeks, it had been reabsorbed by my body. I'm also 34 weeks and doing great. My doctors always told me that 9/10 pregnancies with sch progress with no issues, so don't give up hope! However, you should really go see an OB and take the records from your ER visit. Prenatal care is a necessity, especially with any complications like a sch. The doctors will most likely want to do regular ultrasounds to make sure the clot is not impeding the baby's growth, which is one of the biggest risks associated with this (in addition to placental abruption).
