i read somewhere once about accepting where your partner is in regards to being involved, and to get a doula so the partner can be just "the partner" rather than labor coach if they are not comfortable with that. easier said than done, but it seems like the acceptance might make everybody happier in the long run.......?

Yeah, I have accepted it and am hiring a doula.  It seems like it'll work out best for us if my husband doesn't have to step up and do anything!
