looking forward to c section #3

anyone else having third ( or more ) c section?? Though my first experience was a bit scary. The second section was just great - start to finish. I am hoping this will be even better. I had a wonderful experience with the second. Excellent recovery, very peaceful, etc.

I am so glad to hear that your second section was so wonderful!  My third section was my easiest.  Not really from a less pain standpoint, only from a "been there, done that" one.  You know what to expect from your body, you know what the healing process is like.  I was the most at peace after my third, too.  Enjoy every second, and early congrats!!

I too am having my 3rd c section. The first was of course the worst, the recovery was painful but I refused the pain meds. The second was easier (I am guessing it is because I didn't have 27 hours of labor in front of it; naturally). LOL. Still no pain meds but seemed to have less pain and quicker recovery. If this is any indication, i am planning on an even easier 3rd! Good luck. When are you due?

I am having my 3rd c-section and it's good & "hopeful" to see from the "replies" that perhaps this 3rd one will perhaps be even easier since I am not looking forward to it because of the surgery itself with the "afterbirth-pain" being so intense after each delivery and some of the pain we go thru while caring for newborn simutaneously and I'm in a position where I will need to get back to work sooner than later since this time around their is no "paid maternity leave" in my case and pray the recovery will be a smoother "transition" like I've never imagined, because all 3 of my girls will need "Mommy up and running"

I will be having my 3rd C-section as well. It's been over 5 years since my last one, but I wouldn't want it any other way. The 1st was awful, of course, after 25 hours of labor and not being completely numb when they started cutting and shaking so bad they had to stop to completely sedate me....the 2nd one was an absolute breeze. It seems now like I hopped up on the table, got the epi, went in the OR, watched the dr.s & nurses the whole time and then I had my 1st baby girl right next to me. Oddly, the recovery after my 2nd one was longer than my first. I was walking around my hospital room within 12 hours of having my son the 1st time around, but man the 2nd one just took a lot more out of me...I just wanted to sleep. Anyway, I'd much rather have a planned c-sec than all the fear and worry of going into labor! :)

This will be my 3rd c-section as well. The first one was a bear. I was in labor for nearly 30 hours before they had to take him. The second one was planned and I pretty much knew what to expect. My recovery period was shorter than the first one and the pain was not nearly as bad. Hopefully this 3rd will be a breeze.

This will be my third as well. My first two were not very good, but I am hoping that this one will be a breeze. Both of mine were planned, my son was breech and my daughter was transverse. I am curious to see if this one goes head down, lol. They had a hard time getting both babies out so I am hoping this one will come right out so I don't get beat up as bad. It is all worth it either way.

I am up in the air on a 3rd c section :( I hear that most docs will ask you to tie your tubes after your 3rd because they do not feel a uterus can support a pregnancy/4th c section and I really do not want to limit my family size to 3 children. I know my 2nd CS was MUCH better than the first in terms of recovery, like a previous poster said it was one of those 'been there done that' things. I am looking into a VBAC,... to avoid having a limit on my c sections in case i need one in the future.

I am looking forward to my 4th c-section and my last. I believe the limit for c-section is 4. I am looking forward to meeting my first son on july 28th. Have four girls.

Hey Marlena, I asked my doctor about this too, and she said she does a 4th c/s but no further... I'm looking into a VBAC too, but honestly, it scares the crap out of me (sorry no better words to describe). Nicole

Nicole ME TOO!!! but to be honest the thought of anothr needle going into my back, has me more scared. You should look into ICAN.org and go to a chapter meeting! I went a couple weeks ago and the women in there have all had c sections, some are midwives and doulas, and some have had successful vbacs. It is a really great support group and they really built my confidence into wanting a VBAC2C. PM me if you need more info! Good luck~!!!!
