My greatgrandmother was a wonderful beautiful lovng influence in my life, she passed away when I was almost 17, and it was devastating. I was closer to her than I was to my grandparents. Her name was Estabelle, she was french/cajun, with an adoreable accent... and I never thought that Estabelle was a terribly unusual name. My first child was a boy, so it never crossed my mind, but I'm pregnant again, with a mystery baby (we'll find out at the beginning of august) and I'm choosng Estabelle as our name if it's a girl. I've looked EVERYWHERE, baby name websites, baby name books, parenting sites, etc, to try and find the name's meaning or orign, and it apparently doesn't exist anywhere! There are some of the weirdest, craziest, most bizarre names out there, but my great grandma's isn't one of them! What's the deal? Does anyone know how or where I could find out where this name comes from? I know her parents didn't make it up, I've stumbled across it in literary works, so I know it's not that weird, WTH? Help, please!
