    Advice on Tricare/Army Hospitals, Using Midwives?

    FIrst pregnancy and really wanting to do a NON RUSHED Natural birth, possibly a birthing tub for birth but definitely using one for labor.. Anyone been stationed in Fort Lewis, know about Madigan? Really hard to get info from their website, or google on any blogs

    hi! i'm from the january 2010 board. i am going to get my deers and tricare set up in a few hours. i'm newly navy, so this is all foreign to me still, but i do know that they have that tricare.mil website that you might try. good luck!

    I would really recommend finding a private OB for your prenatal care and birthing. You may have to go see your primary care provider for a referral. It depends if you are tricare prime or standard. A civilian hospital will give you the more relaxed environment you are looking for and you'll have more freedom to pick your doctor if you go private.     I am dealing with tricare my husband is retired disabled navy. you need to go to www.hnfs.net and go to benifits and then search for doctors in your area that participate with tricare whether you are standard or prime.
