I was put on baby aspirin and a Folic Acid/B-6 supplement called Folbic to help with my Factor 5. I haven't been prescribed anything else yet, other than the progesterone which I hope to be done with in 2 weeks (I'll be 16 weeks then). How far along are you? Do you have to give the injections to yourself or does the Dr do them?

I'm 8 weeks... started the shots a week ago. I give them to myself, but I am an RN so it doesn't bother me.

Yep, I'm on lovenox, aspirin and extra folic acid for FVL and MTHFR. I'm almost 30 weeks now, so counting down to the other side with no more shots! If you're interested, there's a great yahoo group FVL-PG - factor v leiden and pregnancy issues. Tons of helpful information and support there. Good luck!

So call me stupid, but how would one find this yahoo group? I'm not the most tech savvy individual. =) Thanks for helping. I'm new to the FVL world and could definately use some more information.

I THINK if you go to www.yahoo.com and look under their "groups", you can search for "FVL-PG" and sign up to belong to the board.

I'm not sure if these links will work, but it's worth a try:

I think this one will take you to the search page for groups

    http://groups.yahoo.com/?ch=web&pub=fp-us&t=fp&sec=link&slk=adaptivetrough

And this one might take you to the group itself.

    http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/FVL-PG/

Try this and if it doesn't work, let me know. :) It's a great source of information. Good luck!

    Re: Lovenox?

Hi, I'm new posting here. I'm from birth club July 2009. I am on Lovenox. I started when I was 12 weeks. I am on 40 mgs daily injections. I was on it with my last pregnancy twice a day because I got a DVT. My perinatologist put me on it earlier with this pregnancy because I am three times more likely to develope another DVT. One I had it before. Two pregnancy increases the risk. Three my blood disorder, I usually have a high platelet count. With my son I had to stay on it for a while even after giving birth to him. I hope it won't be the same with this pregnancy. I'm not taking aspirin though.

I AM 30 weeks pregnant and and have been on lovenox twice a day and a baby aspirin once a day since the day I found out I was pregnant. I had a stroke about 2 1/2 years ago and it is to prevent any clots.

    Re: Lovenox?

For the most part I am doing ok. They have found abnormal blood flow to my uterus so they are watching to make sure that she (I am having a girl) is growing at the correct rate. I had two kids before my stroke and are not sure if this is just the way I am or if it is because of my stroke so I am now worried about her growth. I am sure you have the exhaustion but that was to be expected but it has gotten worse. One of my biggest worries is delivery because I have a clotting stroke so a c-section would be bad so they are having a hard time deciding about induction or spontaneous labor. What type if stroke did you have?

I had a clot in the brain due to birth control pills.  I have 2 DD before the stroke.  I have had 2 clotting blood test and everything came back good; so I am off lovenox for now.  I am asking my doc about what type of labor (c-section, induction, ect..) when I see him next week.  I having a boy and he is growing at a good rate.  My doctor has me concerned about pre-term labor, maybe because of stroke or my age, I dont know.  But you give me hope, you are what 31, 32 wks now?  Please keep me informed on how you are doing.  PM me.
