My name is Laura, and I just turned 36. I have been married to my best friend for 8 years (but we have been friends for, gulp, 18 years), and we have one 3-year-old son, Jett, who will be a marvelous big brother. We live in Southern California and both work as middle school teachers in different districts. We are an animal-loving family, with one horse, two cats, two turtles, two snakes (who live in my classroom 10mos/year), and a 45gal tank full of fish. I've wanted another baby for two years, but unfortunately my body decided to have two back surgeries instead. It's been 16mos since the last one, though, and my OB, neurologist, and neurosurgeon all gave me a very confident go-ahead. So here we are!
