before i had my 2 year old I was a home health care aide working with senior citizens.   when my son came along I was able to quit my job and be a stay at home mom.   since i've been home though, I have now started my own work at home mom business.  It keeps me busy and I enjoy doing it.

In May I graduated w/ a BS degree in Elementary Education and became a licensed teacher. I was sending out resumes and looking for a full time teaching position for the '09-'10 school year. When I found out I was PG, apparently a by product of my graduation celebration activities:) I decided not to take a full time position. So plan now is to work as a substitute until the baby comes. Hopefully I can get a full time teaching position for the '10-'11 school year. During my schooling I worked as a waitress and resturant manager. Right now I am not working. Thought about finding PT job as a tutor or waitress but am waiting for my nausea to subside.

I am 3rd grade teacher. I have been teaching for 10 years now. I love the hours and our breaks, we go 9 or 10 weeks on and then 2 weeks off, with 6 weeks off in the summer. I have to go back to work tomorrow, at least the nausea has passed.

I have an MS in Industrial Enginerring, and I worked for 9 years (on and off between having kids...I got 3 years of leave total and took about one year off after each kid) at a major computer manufacturing corporation.  I resigned about a year ago to be a sahm after all my leave was used up!  I love being home with the kids!

What a wide variety of talents we have on this board!   :)

I am a full-time Ph.D. student and a part-time adjunct instructor (political science is what I teach and my area of study/specialty is Public Policy and Administration-focusing on education policy). This baby will arrive (if everything works out) in the middle of what would have been my last full-time semester. The courses I will be missing only come around every other year, so I guess come January I will be a part-time Ph.D. student and part-time online community college instructor (I only teach a class at the university where I take classes to offset the cost). This next semester I will stay full time and teach one class at the university and teach my first online class for my local community college. Before going back to school I taught Seventh grade Language Arts and Social Studies and worked one year part time (after my son was born) as a reading interventionist with 4-6th graders. I am hoping I feel better and have more energy this Fall, but I should be entering my second trimester the week before I have to go back to work full-time.

I have been a full-time SAHM since 2004.  I'm also active with the pro-life movement, and volunteer as a lay counselor at our local crisis pregnancy center when I can.  Prior to 2004 I worked as a legal secretary.  When all of the kids are in school, I'd like to go back to school for nursing and become a lactation consultant.

Hi. I'm a second grade teacher. I wish I could afford to be a SAHM, but that is not going to be the case. Luckily, teaching has great vacations and I do love my job, so that helps ;)

I am now a stay at home mom and a full time student at WSU. I also volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and the Children's Justice Center at least 20 hours a week. I am a social work major and will graduate next year! YAY! Up until about 6 months ago when I decided to be a stay at home mama, I was a CNA for 6 years. I worked in a medical/telemetry unit and absolutely loved my job! I was actually in the respiratory therapy program (I can do snot-but not blood. So nursing was out of the question!) at WSU but changed majors because my husband works 24-96 hour shifts. So, me working 12 hour shifts and holidays was not ideal. When we got married we had agreed on no more children, but we changed our mind after an unplanned pregnancy ended in miscarriage earlier this year. I will return to work when I graduate at the end of next year. I am hoping to work for Child Protective Services.
