    Measurments

I was just wandering what everyone is measuring at in comparison to how many weeks they are.. I am 29.1 weeks and measuring 37 weeks. According to my dr. what you measure at is how your body is percieving the pregnacy, and if this is the case then should I be concerned about going into labor in the near furture...

I don't see my doctor again until 9/11 so I will update it then.  My last appt I was 21 weeks measuring 26 weeks.  So at that point I still wasn't measuring much bigger than I really was.  I am sure it has changed but will keep you posted.

Shanane,  Keep me posted on how your feeling.  Good luck!

    Re: Measurments

I already answered you on the November board but thought I'd answer here in case anyone else had questions. I was always told by my Dr that while on average you will measure the same number of cm that you are weeks, with twins you can throw that out the window. You never really know, until you get farther along, how much each individual person's body can tolerate. I am only 5' 0" tall and have a very short torso so I don't think he was expecting a whole lot from me, as he kept talking in terms of "if" I made it to 30 weeks. However, by the end I was measuring 47 cm and was 38 weeks along. I measured 44 cm at 34 weeks and was really freaked out that that meant I was going to deliver, but the growth slowed down pretty dramatically in the last few weeks. I think the kiddos just ran out of room to grow! I hope everyone continues to have fantastic and uneventful pregnancies. And don't forget that under the "parenting" section on here there's a "Moms of Multiples" board where the ladies are fantastic and have TONS of advice for nearly every situation you can imagine. It's not the fastest moving board (as everyone's busy with their multiples Stick out tongue) but the women truly are great!

    Re: Measurments

I am currently 31 weeks pregnant with twins and at my last appointment at 29 weeks I was measuring at 36 weeks. I have a nice friend who had twins about 3 months ago and she said that on average you will measure 6-10 weeks ahead with twins. When she was 30 weeks she was measuring at 40. I wouldn't worry about preterm labor as long as your cervical measurments are above 30mm. My doctor is a specialist for multiples and said that the size f the uterus isn't a real heavy factor since your uterus could easily stretch past 40.
