    Uncomfortable.... question?

For the past couple of weeks, there have been days at a time where I have this constant crampy feeling in my pelvis, along with pressure, because the baby is low. I know that it is not contractions, because they don’t come and go, just constant. I mentioned this to my doctor Friday, and she said that it was my round ligaments stretching. Today is really uncomfortable, and I am just wondering a couple of things… 1) am I going to have this feeling until I deliver in about 7 weeks? 2) Is this just normal pregnancy uncomfortableness? 3) Is anyone else having this issue? 4) I am all belly, do you think one of those belly bands would help ease the uncomfortableness, or just be a waste of money at this point? 5) What if it’s more than the round ligaments stretching, should I be concerned?? I know this is a lot of questions, just not sure… Thanks, Dee

    Re: Uncomfortable.... question?

This has been going on with me for awhile now. It hurts very bad. I've noticed it comes when I have done a lot of walking, picking up things (like toddlers), and bending down. I just started getting the pressure feeling, but not too bad. The crampy part of the lower abdomen is the worst part. I spoke to my dr. about this when it first started happening and she said it sounds like I'm doing too much. She said if I have eaten, emptied my bladder and put my feet up for a bit and it went away, it's probably just over doing it. And yes, when I relax it does go away. She did tell me if it doesn't go away within a few minutes and happens a lot throughout the day then I needed to be checked. I also noticed this happens when I wear my lower shelf waisted pants/shorts that have gotten too tight around the lower abdomen which could be a factor too. Ask your doctor about it, but it does sound like what I get too. Your doctor may want to check to see if you have a bladder infection as well.

    Re: Uncomfortable.... question?

I was just going to post about the same thing.  Sunday I was having these awful pains in my pelvic area.  It feels like i have to squeeze my legs together to keep the baby from falling out!  And then i'm having these horrible contractions.  I think they are just Braxton Hicks since they aren't regular and stop once i relax a bit.  I think my problem is that i am trying to do too much.  With a 3 year old this time my house always needs cleaning, laudry done and jsut running around that i didn't really have to deal with last time.  When i start feeling pains i sit down and drink as much water as i can handle and it seems to make it feel better.  So I suggest you try to rest a bit more.  I know it's impossible - I don't think my husband remembers that i am pregnant sometimes.  He acts like i should be doing as much around the house as i usually do-MEN!

I agree with the PP and my doc did recommend the belt. You can sometimes find them at a concienment store so you don't feel so bad spending money on it this late in the pregnancy.

I was actually thinking about the support bands the other day, I've had that for a few weeks and it's getting worse. I get pinching feelings in my cervix and it feels like if I step off a curb wrong she's going to fall out! I try not to waddle but it's very difficult sometimes!
