36 wk appt... also personal question(TMI!)

So I had my 36 wk appt today. I feel so huge! I weight 199.6 lbs! So basically 200 lbs if you round up. And the baby is still VERY active like he has all the space in the world in there and his heartbeat was 141. I'm measuring fine. Everything's good. I'm just having more and more mood swings. My fiance had the nerve to ask the dr how to get rid of my mood swings which pissed me off but whatever. 4 more wks. Cant wait. Exhausted. They wont start checking my cervix til 39 wks unfortunately. And since I was overdue with my first son, they expect me to be overdue this time. Go figure. Everything went great besides the little things at the appt.

So here's my question... Is anyone's private area swollen down there since the baby is pressing on it more? I've just noticed that mine is swollen and VERY sore from the weight of my belly and it hurts like alot of blood is just camping out in that spot. The dr says its normal but it hurts so bad. I've been massaging it trying to push the blood downward and having my fiance help but he turns everything sexual since we stopped doing the deed last month and he just doesnt seem to know HOW he's gonna hold out now til after my 6-8 wks is up and I am healed lol. But I was just wondering. I wake up with everything hurting on my body now. Mostly my sides, hips, back, and down there. I almost feel crippled when I wake up to pee or just get out the bed. Anyone else feeling this?

Glad your appointment went well... I have the swelling also. OUCH! Sometimes is hurts to wear anything tighter than sweats. Other than the swelling, have you noticed any pain in the pelvic bone itself? Do you get severe pain from lifting one leg at a time (putting pants on, getting in and out of the car, etc.)? I ask because other than the pain from the normal swelling- I was having all of that, I though I was going to die. I asked my Dr. about it, he said I have something called SPD (Symphysis Pubic Dysfunction). It's from your body producing too much Relaxin, which can actually cause you pelvis to shift out of place because the ligaments aren't holding them in place anymore... Hopefully yours is just the swelling... It soulds like you're having a lot of other pain too though... http://www.whattoexpect.com/pregnancy/symptoms-and-solutions/symphysis-pubic-dysfunction.aspx

hmm..sounds like what I have and that is vericous veins in the vulva area..makes for a very strong preasure feeling "down there"..just ask your doctor to do a quick exam next time you are in...oh so close and its over..hang in there!!

My birth class teacher who is a certified doula suggested that all of us get a birth ball (exercise ball) to sit on to help stretch the perineum and to relive pressure on the pubic area. She especially suggested it for anyone having pain in that area or sciatic nerve issues. I don't know if that helps or not. I am not swollen or having pain (yet) but I just started sitting on mine and I am hoping it will aid in birth. She also said we should labor on it because it helps a lot during contractions.

I am swollen too, it doesn't really affect me too much though thankfully. Getting up and down is really rough though, once I'm up and moving it's not too bad but I know to get up slowly to allow my bones time to adjust otherwise it hurts!! I was putting a dresser together on my living room floor tonight and by the time I was done it took me a good 10 minutes to get up off the floor! LOL I just brought my excercise ball in the house and started sitting on it and I have to say it helps take some of the pressure off my back. I'm hoping to use it during labor at home to bring her down better. Its gotten worse with each one and I'm 30 now, for those of you or anyone having babies in their late 30's or 40's I commend you!!! I don't know how you do it!

Swollen...oh yes. And veiny too. Try to keep off your feet a bit more to lessen the added pressure down there. Totally normal. There have been days when I've done way too much and I cannot put any weight on my right leg. I can't walk, I look like an old lady who needs a walker....it's terrible. I think the baby sits on my sciatic nerve, cause it gets so bad it shoots down my right leg and my back...oh my back. It's awful.

Hope you feel better soon, this is just one of the joys of pregnancy that we get when its closer to our due dates!!!

Oh YES!!! I remember this with my first pregnancy but am noticing it sooner this time!! My pelvic bones feel like they are breaking apart!!! They hurt most in the night when I am rolling from side to side or getting up to go potty or when I am attempting to get undies/pants on first thing in the morning!! Sometimes I wanna cry when Im moving at these times. Its an awful awful pain!!!! I am sorry you girls are hurting too but Im glad to know its not just me!! I seriously sometimes feel like everything is gonna fall out!! LOL
