    Baby is not moving

Hello everyone, I am 25 weeks and it is our first baby, I do not want to know the sex of the baby, but what I do know is that this baby is very still and it makes me go into a panic attack. I was told at my last Doc visit that my placenta is in the middle, right behind my belly button. The baby is right behind and the Doc said this is why I cannot feel the baby because the placenta services as a big cushion. With that said I felt better when I left but not satisfied because as a first timer I want to feel our baby move, atleast feel something on the side...but NOTTHING. This is so frustrating for me and brings me to tears. I feel an occasional flutter or wave like motion, but even this feeling is very rare. We do not know what we are having, but I tell my husband it's a girl because she is so good...LOL Please share your stories if you are going through the same. Thanks.

I know as a FTM it's hard and very scary not to feel those kicks and punches as often as other moms that post about how active their baby is. But remember every baby is different and sometimes you're baby may be a little lazy and not feel like doing much and other days it may be overly active with the movement. I'm also a FTM, I'll be 28 weeks on Fri. and have not felt as much movement as other moms. (I think it's a sign my little boy is going to be a good child. lol) I also have a placenta that is acting like a "cushion". Be patient, you will feel more as your baby grows and it's movements get stronger. I have just started to feel movement (strong kicks and punches) here in the past week or so and it's not an everyday occurance with him either. He's a lazy boy. lol I'm sure you're baby is just a lazy one like mine. lol Good Luck and I hope you start to feel more movement soon! : )

I am sorry you are not feeling your baby :( I can't imagine how frustrating it is. I didn't feel my baby until 18 weeks (this is my second) and it was when I was at a Keith Urban concert. The screaming woke her up! I have not had that same problem with my placenta. But, I have heard from other mamas that once you get further along, you will feel your baby more. The baby reaches a point where when you look down at your tummy, you can see it rolling around. So, at that point you will feel more for sure! In fact, you will probably feel more than you want eventually :) Those kicks to the ribs towards the end can get down right painful.
