This is such a stupid question

When do you change baby...before or after feeding?

When Ryan was a NB I would change him after, because I remember reading that BF babies typically pooped while they ate.  So I thought it was stupid to change before and after.  But, as time went on, BFing didn't work for us and then we discovered that Ryan had acid reflux, which required us to hold him upright for 20 mins after feedings, so I didn't want to do that then change him and wake him up again.

new born... i change before feedings because it wakes her up and prepares her for the feeding..... and now that mybaby is an 11 month old... she gets changed whenever she has a significant pee diaper or number 2!

however,... i changed her a lot as newborn.. i was always worried about rash...

omg you just opened up my mind that I have to re-teach myself all the newborn care stuff lol its been 2.5 yrs and seriously I've aged and brain forgot all the essential things.  this is going to be weird learning it all again!  I guess I'm thinking each baby maybe different and one method may work for one and not another... I do remember my son would fall asleep after a feeding but I don't remember when we changed him :(

I also agree with pp. .Before feeding, to wake baby up and so baby can go to sleep afterwards without being disturbed  ;)

Thats a great question actually... I always changed my daughter afterwards because she was breastfed and they ALWAYS use the bathroom during the feeding and I never had a problem worrying about waking her up. She'd sleep through the changing. I would always pull out her baby wipe while i feed her so it wouldn't be so cold on her bottom and then i'd feed her and change her and then lay her down!

I always did before feedings as well. Gives them a fresh diaper to avoid rash from them being in a dirty diaper as well as wake them up to eat... Something new to think about since this will be my first time breastfeeding. I formula fed my first son.

OMG I don't remember!!! LOL It's been 2.5 years since my last one and I'm really all the responses as to why but I can't remember what I did. I think I usually did it first especially at night because I would bring them to bed with me to BF and they would fall asleep. Funny!

I changed mine whenever they needed it...sometimes, if they were changed before the last feeding, they didn't need another before they were fed again(30 minute feedings anyone?)  Most of the time, though, I'd change before feeding them...then again after if I needed to.  *shrug*  Just go with the flow and you'll figure it out!!

I BF and I am pretty sure that I changed her before the feeding.
