I broke down and got the H1N1 shot... Ugh!

  I broke down and got the H1N1 shot... Ugh! Reply Contact I began to get nervous about it and got more info on it that eased my mind. Ended up getting it with my fiance. *sigh* SMH! Dont judge me! LOL! I just wanna protect my baby so I did it for him more so than me b/c he wont have any protection for 6 months. I have no symptoms and I didnt get the live virus. I got the preservative free one for pregnant women. So I now have the flu shot and the H1N1. I should be good. Never had issues w/ the flu shot. Plus I have my faith to fall back on as well if all else fails. And also here, no one under 14 yrs old can visit the hospital so I guess I'm reassured. Its trying to keep ppl away from my child when we get home from the hospital and not being rude or mean that I'm worried about. I already told my fiance I want the first few days at home to us to bond w/ baby and for me to get breastfeeding down. Whether he listens or not is what we'll have to wait and see about.

A lady from my OB office is in the ICU... intubated with H1N1 and she is only 26wks preggo... so I got scared and got the shot.. preserve free also...

Yeah all those pregnancy scares on the news w/ pregnant women getting the H1N1 flu scared me into it too lol. One lady an hr from where I live just died last month but the baby lived. Sad. I dont want that to be me. My heart goes out to everyone that the H1N1 has affected. Then today a little boy's in ICU w/ the H1N1 as well. I'm SO gonna act like a germophobe for those 6 wks after I have this baby. I already see myself doing it.

  Re: I broke down and got the H1N1 shot... Ugh! Reply Contact Don't feel bad, I also got the H1N1 today and I've been so nervous about it. I just want to protect my baby from something preventable. I've never had a flu shot before or the flu for that matter. I couldn't get the seasonal flu shot because the only ones my Dr has aren't safe for pregnant women. I'm glad that I'm not the only one who has done it. It was a tough decision but I know that this is whats best for my baby, and its only the beginning.

Reply Contact Jaylin got one Thursday night and I got mine yesterday. Matt (dh) will get one as soon as the baby is born and he qualifies. To me the benefits outweigh the risks!

Reply Contact Boys got the first round of them but need there booster...I haven't gotten it yet because the OB doesn't have it yet and everywhere else has the thermosol in it...blah. Tyler will get his when he qualifies as well. We ALL have gotten the regular flu shot.

I live close to you and there have been a ton of cases in our area. several have died from it around us too. I am glad I got it. I plan on keeping people away for the first couple of weeks as well.
