Is anyone a Tay Sachs carrier?

I am a carrier for Tay Sachs an enzyme deficiency that ultimately causes death before the age of six years. Both parents have to be carriers for the deficiency to present but the DH results were messed up in the lab and now we are waiting for the second results to come in. Just wondering if anyone else was tested for it and the results...

I prayed for you that he is not a carrier. If your baby has Tay Sachs is there something they can be given in utero or at birth to help? I know I was tested for it, but I'm not familiar with the disease.

There is no cure or treatment for Tay Sachs. It's very rare I was just curious how many others were even tested for it because of it being so rare. DH results are still not in... I will let you know when they come in...

So I called the Dr office today about the results because mine came in within ten days and its been two weeks now for DH. They are in but the Dr wont be in until Monday to go over them with me so they wont tell me the results :( This waiting is so frustrating we've been waiting for almost two months to clear this possibility, and still there is more waiting :(

So we got the results of the test, they came back inconclusive... which means my DH has to have blood drawn for the third time for the same test... this is starting to make me anxious, I just want to know one way or the other. :/
