    Is anyone having heart palpitations?

Hello, I´ve been feeling heart palpitations for the past 2 weeks at least, which is basically becoming aware of your heart beat (somewhat faster heartbeat) in my upper body. You know how one never feels the heart, well, there are episodes when I feel the presence and activity of my heart. I have 3 or 4 episodes during the day and more frequently at night, which also adds poor sleep and additional tiredness, so it´s at least very annoying, if not concerning. I have been reading about it and it seems to be normal because of the increased blood flow, but just wanted to see what you ladies thought about it, what your experience is, and really, should I worry about this? Or what can I do to stop this? Thanks in advance for all your responses!

With ds I had this all the time.  I became very concerned about it too and talked to the doctor.  I even went to a cardiologist and they found nothing wrong.  I think it's just because your heart is working harder taking care of two people.  You are pumping more blood as well.  I don't think you need to be concerned.  I've heard it is very common.  I have it occasionally with this pregnancy as well.  I wish I could tell you there was a way to stop it but I never found one.  I think, if memory serves me right that nearing the end of pregnancy it didn't happen as often.  It drove me crazy though because it felt like my heart would flutter and beat so quickly.

I hope it subsides for you!  It doesn't hurt to talk to your doctor about it as well, especially if it is worrying you.

I have it too. Its quite normal to have during pregnancy so try not worry, as worrying actually makes palpatation's worse.

I have it too and was going to ask the same questions! I am glad I am not alone! My heartbeats aren't necessarily faster, just stronger...if that makes any sense.

Could be blood pressure or anemia (iron deficiency) related -- might want to have them checked out :) Just popping in from the April board!

To all of you who do have heart palpitations and are going crazy about them: I started to research and found a website that says that they could be caused by a lack of magnesium and advises to increase the intake of this mineral, so I tried it. Two weeks later I am happy to say that I have not had any more episodes of heart palpitations just by eating more soy milk, bananas, a variety of nuts, spinach, beans and others. Thought this might help others so read on the following links: http://www.ctds.info/heart-palpitations.html http://magnesiumrichfoods.com/ http://www.articlealley.com/article_143793_17.html
